Looking for a replacement Hard Drive.?
My laptop’s (Dell Inspiron 1525) hard drive has gone bad recently, and I am looking for a replacement.
I searched on Ebay, and there are many different ones for sale, but I do not know which one to purchase.
My old Hard Drive was:
Made by Hitachi
HDD: 5k320-250
Model: HTS543225L9A300
5400 RPM
250 GB Capacity
3 GB SATA
I found one on Ebay that is:
Made by Dell
Model: Doesn’t list, says (newest model)
7200 RPM
250 GB Capacity
Doesn’t list the SATA
and it has 16 MB Buffer Size
I do not know what the Buffer Size means, could someone help me out with that?
Also would this be a good replacement for my old hard drive? I can’t seem to find my hard drive on Hitachi’s website. (www.hitachigst.com)

any hard drive will work as long as it meet 2 requirements
1 it must be a 2,5 inch drive, this is the physical size of the drive
2 it has to be sata , that is how the drive connects to your lap top
you can get a drive with higher capicty, or lower if you want
the 5400 rpm, or 7200 rpm is how fast the drive spins the internal disc, the faster,the faster it can trans fer data, but faster means lower batter life for your laptop
the buffer is just another stage to help the drives performance, with a laptop, i dont think you will see much is any gain from a bugger buffer
so there you go, as long as it is a 2.5 inch drive with sata, you can buy any drive you want
